Steve Booker launched Nurse Rosie Products, formerly known as Life Systems, Inc., in 1977 as a niche distributor for medical technology in the acute care market. As the direction of the company moved from hospitals to long-term care, so did Booker’s vision.
His primary goal was to bring products to nursing homes that would enhance their efficiency and level of resident care, to do so in a manner that was affordable and economically feasible and to become the leader in the sales and service of point-of-care devices in the long-term care market. Today, Booker continues to lead a dedicated team of professionals, serving the needs of more than 2,500 skilled nursing facilities throughout the United States. A board member of Riverview Health and Rehabilitation Center in Savannah, Booker resides with his wife Marie, in Savannah.
As Senior Vice President of Nurse Rosie Products, Marie Booker oversees the day-to-day operations of business development and corporate relations, providing support for the Sales, Human Resources and Marketing departments. “I enjoy interacting with the great group of people who work with me,” she says. Booker joined the company in 1997.
On a basketball and tennis scholarship, Booker attended Shorter College in Rome, Georgia, where she studied communications. Prior to joining Nurse Rosie Products, she owned her own local fragrance business. In addition, Booker operates vacation rentals in Historic Savannah. She resides with her husband and business partner, Steve, in Savannah. Their family makes up three adult children, three grandchildren and two beloved cats, Pyewacket and Sophie.
As Executive Vice President, Harold Landers drives performance in all aspects of the business, including recruitment, sales, marketing and project management. Landers directs the management team across all departments, providing motivation and encouragement to help others perform to the best of their abilities. “Leading and developing others to perform at the top of their game is my key responsibility,” he said. Landers joined Nurse Rosie Products in January 2013. “The combination of our exceptional team, along with the superb product we offer, brings me more pride than anything else.”
Prior to joining the company, Landers worked for TMX Finance in the role of Regional Manager. He also brings more than 19 years of experience as Regional Operations Manager with Eckerd Drug Corporation. Landers earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration from Jacksonville State University, Ala. In addition, he earned certificates of higher learning from the University of Houston, Texas, and NOVA University, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. Certified by the Georgia Industrial Loan Association, Landers is also a member of the Songwriters Guild of America. He resides in Richmond Hill.
As Chief Financial Officer, Wain Yarber oversees the company’s financial strategy, managing all financial matters and executing profitable growth strategies. Yarber is also responsible for leading the home office accounting team. He became an employee in May 2016 and says, “I enjoy the opportunity to work with great people.” Prior to joining Nurse Rosie Products, Yarber served as Vice President of Finance for International Greetings USA.
A Certified Public Accountant, he earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from Georgia Southern University, Statesboro. He also earned 40 additional credit hours in accounting from Georgia State University, Atlanta. A member of the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants, he is the former Vice President of Finance of the Boy Scout Council of the Coastal Empire and former treasurer for Southside YMCA. He resides in Isle of Hope with his wife, Pam. They have two children, Alex, 24 and Reed, 23.
As Manager of Human Resources (HR), Lara Hoium ensures the recruitment of top talent to the Nurse Rosie Products team, and leads the organization’s HR programs and policies pertinent to employee relations, compensation, benefits, performance and staffing levels. Hoium also serves as administrative assistant to the President and CEO and provides assistance with office management. She joined Nurse Rosie Products in September 2011. “I enjoy working for a business where I have an impact on day-to-day operations,” she said.
Prior to joining the company, Hoium worked as Human Resources Manager for TMX Finance. She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration and her Master of Business Administration degrees from Georgia Southern University, Statesboro. A certified Senior Professional in Human Resources, Hoium is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management. She resides in Savannah.
As Vice President of Sales for National and Corporate Accounts, Evy Hornsby is responsible for driving sales for Nurse Rosie Products’ largest corporate customers. She serves as the company’s primary point of contact for national and corporate accounts, assisting these skilled nursing facilities with a variety of needs.
An employee since 2008, Hornsby formerly served as Director of Sales and Customer Service. “I enjoy knowing the products we sell are benefitting our clients and the service we provide enhances the work experience of the nursing staff and residents,” she said. Hornsby earned her business administration degree from the University of Cambridge in England, her native country. She also has levels 1-3 of her National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ) in accounting. NVQs are England’s competence-based qualifications. Hornsby resides in Savannah with her son James, 3, and daughter Alexandra Christine, 1.
Brittany Jefferson recently became promoted to the position of Senior Sales Manager in December 2017. In her new position, Brittany is in charge of driving sales across the entire company by leading and coaching her dynamic sales team of Inside and Outside Sales Reps. Prior to joining Nurse Rosie Products, Brittany worked in sales for the ELECTROLUX Corporation. She relocated to Savannah from Augusta, Georgia when she joined our company three years ago. Brittany is the proud mother of a six year old son and, in her spare time, she enjoys helping friends and family members in serving as their “Wedding Planner”. Her family is famous for their signature BBQ and BBQ Sauce that is served all around the southeast.
George Thomas has served as Information Technology (IT) Manager with Nurse Rosie Products since July 2016. In this role, he oversees the day-to-day operations of the company’s internal and external IT needs, also ensuring the smooth and efficient operations of RosieConnect 2.0 for skilled nursing facilities across the United States. In addition, he leads a team of training and installation specialists. “I enjoy working with an excellent group of individuals, including the customers we serve,” he said.
Thomas brings more than nine years of experience in various IT management positions to the role, serving as a Military Intelligence Systems Maintainer and Integrator for the United States Army, among others. With multiple certifications in the IT industry, Thomas earned his Associate of Applied Science degree from Cochise College, Sierra Vista, AZ. A member of the American Legion, Thomas resides with his wife, Ashley, in Pooler.
Otis Cloud, Director of Logistics and Customer Solutions, joined Nurse Rosie Products in 2016. Otis directs the Nurse Rosie Technical Support, Shipping and Receiving and Customer Service teams. In addition to a career in the U.S. military, Otis has many years of experience in managing distribution centers. After retiring from his military career, Otis and his wife moved to Richmond Hill, Georgia. When he is asked about the things he is most proud of, he immediately says his family, especially his successful children. In his spare time, Otis enjoys playing guitar as well as researching and teaching enhanced computer skills.
